Pokuszenie

"Pokuszenie" (“Temptation”) is a series of 7 paintings created over the span of five years, dedicated to exploring the pursuit of moral “perfection” — and, more precisely, everything that stands in its way. Each painting is devoted to one of the seven cardinal virtues and the sins that oppose it. Color becomes the language of inner conflict: purple for pride, green for envy, orange for gluttony, blue for lust, red for anger, yellow for greed, and light blue for sloth. The dominance of a particular color in each piece reveals which temptation most endangers the virtue it confronts. Temperance sinks into the blue tones of lust; Justice glows with the yellow of greed…

The series aims to encourage reflection and dialogue about morality, and about how each of us is vulnerable to temptations and weaknesses on the path to becoming “the best version of ourselves.”
